Better Than Expected
I must say my first exposure to John Truby was on YouTube videos and I didn't take to it. Of course, one could gleen some practical screenplay knowledge from his approach, but at the time he also seemed a bit negative and unnecessarily complex. Years later when I'd read everything else... I bought this book. It's a gem. I learned so much from this book. It definitely had me looking at screenwriting from many new angles which translate to nothing less than making my writing better.
