If ever a band succeeded in blending classical music with rock then Renaissance did. This live recording captures them at the zenith of their creative abilities in the mid seventies. I saw them live in 1976 in Hull, England when they did a tour of universities and colleges. On seeing Annie Haslam and listening to her entrancing voice I immediately had a big crush on her. A beautiful woman and fantastic singer. I also immediately went out and bought this album which remained part of my treasured vinyl collection until recently when I finally fully converted to digital recordings. This particular Repertoire recording is excellent and the remastering does both justice to the original whilst enhancing it. This album is full of energy and dynamism from the classical line up of band members with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra in support.Read full review
