Easy to use and makes food tastier than ever
Great smoker. This is the first electric one I have used, but I really like it. Simple to use. Plenty of instructions and recipes. Did salmon and chicken the first weeken. Did a pork roast and chicken the second weekend. While this won't cook chicken to 185 degrees, as it has a constant 165 degree control system. The smoke flavoring is there in a half hour and then just take it out and finish it on the grill, oven or however you want it cooked. It came with a bag of chips which I use , but add my old peach and cherry branches.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Too lightweight for what I was wanting.
For the price, I guess it's ok. Very thin aluminum, maybe I overlooked the guage in the specs. I haven't used it yet but judging from the thickness of the tabs holding the racks, I don't see a way to put any meat on there that would weigh more than a few pounds. For smaller pieces, it will probably work ok. Turkeys are out of the question along with bigger meats (venison roasts, ribs, etc). The small pan used for the wood must use small chips/pellets. I have many apple trees and have 2 huge burlap sacks full of cut apple wood for smoking. No way to use it in this smoker. But I will keep it and will use it, it's just not quite what I wanted. So I'm building my own aluminum smoker out of heavier weight metal and a large wood burning box on the bottom. Like I said, I haven't used it yet but these are my first observations. Works well
It does not hear evenly. Have used a car's sun shade as insulation, trying to maintain heat. Makes wonderful smoked food but after 8-12 hours, drippings get baked on. The outer shell is very soft aluminum and was dented upon arrival. Part of it affects the seal on the door. It's soft aluminum also makes it difficult to clean, not wanting to put a lot of pressure on it. Do to ease of use, though, would recommend it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
