Mitsubishi introduces the new Model HS-HD2000U, a D-VHS HDTV VCR. This state-of-the-art VCR combines the new D-VHS standard for recording high definition and standard digital signals with all of the quality and performance of a premium S-VHS VCR. It receives its high definition signal in digital form through an IEEE 1394 network connection to an integrated HDTV or IEEE 1394equipped HDTV receiver.

excellent for tape ripping!
great for ripping old tapes and even tapes with crappy tracking. i would put the image quality the same as the high end JVC models. only down side was figuring out how to manually track tapes. hold the EP/SP button wile playing a tape and press the direction button on the VCR to change tracking manually. eject tape to return to auto tracking.

Found it useful
This is a great digital VCR and found it practical. I love it and the original owner processed it in excellent condition. Not many out there and if you find one grab it if you are a fan of VCR's. I use it to watch my old VHS movies and record off my digital cable reciever with DVHS tapes. Impressive quality that almost rivals DVR.

Eureka! It works!
Since this is a used item, it’s nice to find one that actually works. Most have worn out heads which leads to a lot of audio and video noise. I feel lucky to have found it. Seller was great too.
