While, on full performance, it is not as quiet as I'd like, it works great even on lower speeds. I live in the desert where dust & sand is ever present in the air. Clean but noisy!
I like this unit but it is loud. My last 51150 purifier ran 24 hours a day, every day for years, I expect this new unit will do the same. The noise issue is bothersome. Set on low this purifier is way louder than the old one set on high, too bad. I thought about sending it back but I like the clean air. This model circulates the air well. You can really tell the difference after you turn it on. The HEPA and charcoal filter reminder lights are great to remind me when to replace them.
