Yep it was in the box and yes it was used . The fan had a lot of smoke tar and dust build up in it and through the unit It had a smell so after 2 hours of cleaning the smell and smoke tar dust was gone . Great air purifier, check your sources of purchase beforehand
This air purifier is an excellent value and can clean a mid-sized room in about 20 minutes... the filter is easy to clean and the ionizer works well (especially if you use a spray bottle or humidifier in conjunction with it) -- The only downside is this specific one smelled strongly of fabreeze and also has a noisy fan blade. Orek air cleaner
This unit worked for three min. before the green light turned red.I took the bottom off and checked the wire from the motor to the cell unit and it was brittle (fried).I replaced the wire and blugged it in...this time it worked for five min. before the light turned red again...I removed the cell unit from the inside and replaced it with the cell unit from my old Orek and the unit is now working properly....It's a good thing I had the electrical knowledge to fix this unitVerified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Superior air cleaning !
When I bought this Oreck air purifier , it was used ! but never the less it works perfect , I also have a couple of other Oreck's and the air in the house is much better . The air is cleaner and crisper , what I mean to say is the air is like after a fresh thunder storm . Great purifier if bought new
I have a couple of these tower type Orecks I bought new and they are fantastic but are discontinued now so I bought a used one. (First time) The previous owner did not take very good care of it and it needed a Truman cell but are also discontinued. It's a paperweight without getting another cell for it.
