I own approx 25 evp recorders that are all great at capturing evp. I have had great success with my entire collection. BUT NINE OF THEM AND I MEAN NONE OF THEM hold a candle to this iconic anomaly of an evp recorder. This recorder picks up crazy stuff like screams, and class A phrases OFTEN. It also picks up full conversations! This recorder is absolutely nuts and a must have for every paranormal investigator. I bought mine new from the European market and it's an early 1998 Japanese edition. The VAS doesn't shut off. And I can sit there and ask a question and watch the record time stop for a couple seconds after my question and than start recording in absolute silence, and there are evp's there every time! If you can afford one, don't hesitate to get one in great condition.

There is a very good reason that the legendary Panasonic RR-DR60 IC Digital Voice Recorder is the most sought-after of all digital voice recorders. Hype as the other reviewer referrers would obviously be short lived, however the Panasonic RR-DR60, RR-QR100, and RR-QR200 have been well documented worldwide over a 10+ year period of time. The king of them all, the super rare original 1998 version RR-DR60 often sells for more than $2,200, if you can even find one. Now considered the Holy Grail of EVP equipment, the RR-DR60 model was discontinued about 10 years ago because people complained to Panasonic that they were “hearing voices that weren't supposed to be there". According to Mark Turner, a man with a wealth of knowledge of EVP, the key to successful EVP recording is the Panasonic RR-DR60 recorder. (see: http://www.viceland.com/int/v16n4/htdocs/ghouls-in-the-machine-824.php) where he is quoted: Interviewer question: "So what machines are best for recording the voices of the deceased?" Mark Turner's reply: "It’s definitely the Panasonic RR-DR60. It’s far and away the best." Interviewer question: "Someone should tell Panasonic. They could use that as a USP." Mark Turner's reply: "We tell them, but they don’t respond to anything about EVP. I wish we knew what made them so good, but without help from Panasonic’s engineers we can’t work it out. We try taking them apart, but no luck so far." Mark Turner is the co-founder of Ghost Finders Scotland and the EVP Research Association, a professional organization studies Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP). When field-tested in side-by-side comparison tests with other Digital Voice Recorder models made by Panasonic, Sony, Olympus, and others, the EVP results are like night & day. The RR-DR60 is by far the leader in recording EVP, bar none.Read full review
The Panasonic DR60 Is a must-have for any paranormal investigator… for some reason it is able to capture Electronic Voice Phenomenon better than any other digital voice recorder. The only 2 devices I use on a paranormal investigation now are the Panasonic DR60 & Panabox Spirit Box... both highly effective at capturing evidence.

Great device. Too bad Panasonic won’t make an updated one. Probably because of paranormal connection. I guess Panasonic doesn’t want to make money. People believe in the spirit of God and Jesus Christ but won’t recognize any other spirits?? Reality check, We are all spirits. People are living in denial. This is up there with, the earth is flat, and there are no other planets with ANY life on them.

The Panasonic Dr60 is the best tool in my vast paranormal investigation kit. It is amazing how it captures EVP’s a majority of the times whereas all my other digital recorders only occasionally capture EVPs. A “must have” for the serious ghost hunter. If you can afford it, purchase it!
