Richard Dawkins uses scientific evidence and logical argument to destroy creationist thought and unfounded belief systems. Not only does he expressly show the inherent contradictions of the Bible but also lets those he interviews make a fool of themselves by themselves. I found it hilarious that those who strongly believe in the Bible and faith healing subconsciously know they are following an unfounded and irrational belief system. Dawkins has an incisive questioning technique which cuts to the heart of the debate between science and religion: religion is the root of all evil and science is not afraid of building upon itself once new information and evidence comes to the fore to disprove previous theories. What religious thinkers fail to realize is that they depend on scriptures written by people who profess they have spoken with God. They either fail to realise it has inherent contradictions and fallacies or turn a blind eye to the blatant fact that the Old Testament Bible contains a God Yahweh who was more sexist, tyrannical and jealous than most tyrants that ruled our world in the twentieth century and before! Dawkins argues that children should be given the freedom of information they need to choose what belief system they wish to follow by looking at the available evidence before them. If we are to promote the values of a 'free' society then we should promote freedom of education as well. We should not constrain our children to our own beliefs. It's a selfishness made evident by Yahweh in the Old Testament which is being carried through the generations of Christians now. We abandoned the Old Testament because of this moral conflict. Why have we held on to its selfishness? Dawkins' work is a marvel of modern academia. A pleasure to read and a pleasure to watch.Read full review

Thou that hast confused all of us, naïve descendants of what Gilbert & Sullivans' character, Pooh-Bah, once described as being of ''pre-Adamite ancestry traceable to a protoplasmal primordial atomic globule'' ... misleading us, gullible human-beans that we are, into thinking that Thou existest and that Thou hath created the universe and all in it at 9 o'clock in the morning of the 26th of October in the year 4004 B.C.E., Thou shouldst be thoroughly ashamed of Thy(phoney)self. Today, only the simple-minded, the blind, or the unthinking, would believe such utter gobbledygook, thanks to the lucidity of Darwin, Dawkins (and the scientific community, in general), and their marvelous lucidity in determining our origins through natural selection. I am convinced that had You really existed, you too would have worshipped the one-and-only real god, SCIENCE! ... for it was She that created us! Dear CREATIONISTS, don't act like the fools who vomited unfair critism on Rushdie's 'Satanic Verses', without ever having read a single page of the text; be honest, don't criticize Dawkins' exposé until you have first studied it. Buy it, read it or watch it and then cogitate! Ité, Missa est! (PS. it seems that God will now face an unsurmountable, existential problem?!). This is a great combination of science, reason, and the intellectual quest of our distingushed Professor Dawkins into what role religion has to play in modern society and the incompatability of science and religion. Atheists rejoice - you have a champion in Professor Dawkins. Those who hold fast to their religious convictions and choose to deny evolution beware.
Richard Dawkins is a powerful presenter of the facts of creation as he sees them and the dangers of any form of religion in today's world. With the mind of a serious academic, coupled with a communications capability many leading politicians would envy, he uses the small screen to great effect to put over his twin messages of rational disbelief in God and rational belief in evolution by natural selection. Dont watch these if you are a firm believer in God with high blood pressure. For the rest of us, they make compelling viewing.
