The stuff is east to use just clean out rust and oils from tank, use washers and soapy water to do the latter, swill it about then dry out with a heat gun. Once completely dry, blog the fuel tap hole with suitable threaded bolt and poor the sealer in, put the cling filmed fuel cap on and shake ensure full coverage. Then drain excess back into tin and replace the lid on the tin. Agitate the tank to ensure that the coating is even whilst setting. Once set you can apply a second coat if you like, I recon that the tin could do 3 bike tanks. Once its set it looks like smooth silver Hammerite paint! Good stuff! Easy to use! But I cannot over emphasise its all down to preparation! Seems to work good!

  • Used on a classic Mini fuel tank with great results

Perfect for refurbishing a 7.5 gallon classic Mini fuel tank. Started with 1kg citric acid (ebay/amazon) mixed with 7.5 gallons of water and left for one week which removed all traces for rust. Citric acid can be disposed of safely e.g. pour down drain. Then washed fuel tank out with clean water to remove all traces of citric acid (degreaser could also be used). Left for a day in the sun to dry. Then sealed all holes apart from filler neck and poured it in and finally seal filler neck after - masking/duct tape will do. Sloshed about and left to rest on each "side" of fuel tank. About 5-10 mins total. Drained out of filler neck back into can. Make sure all excess is removed and not left to puddle in fuel tank. About 3/4 of the can was drained. You could probably use a 273ml can on tanks up to 7.5 gallon. Add small amount water to can which causes tank sealer to dry overnight so can be disposed of. Do not reuse or reseal lid after use!! Leave for 5 days to dry before filling with fuel.

  • Works well!

Sealed an old 1981 Yamaha tank. Had it acid dipped first then used this product and seems to have worked perfectly. Poured all the excess back into the tin to use again on my next project. I reckon you’d get three tanks out of one can easy.

  • 30 year old petrol tank - Back in Business

This product is excellent. Follow the instructions and you will get perfect results. Preparation is critical. Get rid of all the rust and loose debris from the petrol tank. I did not use the POR 15 prep products - I used 25 litres of white vinegar - took a week of agitating with compressed air. Rinse with hot soapy water to neutralise the vinegar, dry with a heat gun, add the POR 15 - job done
