Fixed my microwave
My 2002 Amana Radarange microwave suddenly quit heating and had a strong electrical smell. After some research, we replaced the diode but that didn't fix it, so the magnetron was the next obvious part to replace. Sure enough, the original magnetron was scorched in a location that was difficult to see until it was disconnected. The new magnetron did the trick. Note: the old diode was bad, so replacing the diode wasn't a waste. When the magnetron failed, it probably damaged the diode, so both parts needed to be replaced. Less than $50 total and I have my powerful, easy to clean microwave oven back and I hope it works another 14 years!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

The old switcheroo
I looked for a magnetron for my ancient (2003) GE microwave/convection oven. If I found one (obsolete) it would have been upwards of two bills. I did a little googling and learned that there are only a few magneton mfg's and only a few magnetron styles. Turns out mine, a Toshiba, is a dead ringer for this LG. Who knew?
