Works very well Ubuntu and Flightgear after compiling Opentrack-2.3.49.
Works very well on Ubuntu and Flightgear after compiling Opentrack-2.3.49 from source code. Makes it easy to look around your 3D environment. The infrared led clip comes with velcro straps which help you attach it to headphones. The camera has been modified to stop visible light but pass infrared. You'll still want to make sure no direct sunlight is in your headshot, as this will swamp the led o/p. It also helps to adjust lens focus so the leds are imaged as sharp a possible and have a smaller diameter. There is need to adjust led clip (and/or camera position) so the leds imaged in the camera don't collide for all the head movements you'd want to do. Opentrack lets to adjust how sensitive your head movement translates to X,Y, Z position/rotation. E.g. this allows for slight turning of your head causing in effect a 180 deg rotation, so you're looking behind you in 3D environ, but are still comfortably looking at your monitor. Actually pretty good
Its made out of mostly good quality parts, the infrared piece is made out of a cheap 3D-printed plastic which is quite sturdy but also semi fragile, the camera requires the CL-eye driver (link in the box for it) after which it works flawlessly in FaceTrackNoIR and FreeTrack. Also make sure you change the focus properly since the thread is very fine. It does require quite a bit of setting up, although you can usually get it setup decently well in most games after a few hours of tweaking. Tried and works with Arma 3, Dirt rally and ETS2 so far. Well made, works flawlessly, excellent value for money
This is a very well put together product. You cannot get better value for money than this. The ps3 eye camera has been expertly modified to see the IR sensors and be used as a FreeTrack camera. The quality of work here was brilliant. The LED track clip is 3d printed and again, the quality of workmanship was brilliant. It is lightweight but sturdy, and it has included straps to attach it to your headset. My only criticism here is thet the USB cable could be longer. Installation and setup documentation is included, its well written and by following it, I had the tracking working in a very short time. Driver installation for the camera was a bit tricky, the specified driver didn't work in Windows 10, but I downloaded a newer driver from codelaboratories and it worked straight away. Overall, this product is well made. The value for money here is amazing. PROS: Well made, excellent value for money, moderately easy to setup. It works perfectly but is a bit difficult to setup the very first time. Part of this is due to the wide range of 6-axis adjustments that allow tweaking it to suit your personal tastes. I already had FaceTrackNoIR 1.7 installed but had to locate and install the PointTracker 1.0 plugin since it uses IR. A minor problem was that mine arrived with the PS3 Eye-camera way out of focus so had to keep twisting the camera lens barrel until the IR image finally sharpened up. I was worried I was going to break it since it took so many turns to achieve focus. Once dialed in it's extremely accurate and really adds to the game/simulator immersion factor! Be aware that strong background light may affect it, even though it's IR only. The bottom line is it works great and is a great deal. I cranked up the fps from 30 to 60 and it's very smooth.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent product, great value.
Works flawlessly, once you work out there is a lens cap to remove! Haven't tried TrackIR to compare, but this product works excellently with anything I've tried it on. Used it for a couple of weeks now with Arma3, and it's transformed the game - situational awareness is much easier and seamless. Very low lag in games, so low that you soon don't even notice it. Recommended, if only for this (or similar) game. My son has tried it briefly with DayZ Standalone, and it works well there as well. Highly recommended as a great value TrackIR alternative. Buy this not track ir5
Cannot be beaten for value. You can make yourself but literally costs the same as this. I have used track ir5 and there is no difference between the functionality. Works perfectly.
