These hose connectors are like rocking horse droppings; very hard to find! I hunted in all of my local hardware shops for one, but in the end looked on Ebay and found one in seconds. My old hose reel is now fully functioning again - not that I need it much in this terrible weather!

An (almost) identical tap adaptor can be bought from about 50p. Hozelock use a non-standard thread for the inlet adaptor and charge almost £8! Exorbitant, but saved having to buy a new hose reel. (I have had three Hozelock reels and all have failed at the hose inlet).

Should cost £1 from Wilko but so hard to buy everyone jack's up the price, looks like a standard 1/2 or 3/4 adapter but it is 5/8 in reality, this was, I think, a genuine Hozelock one.

Genuine Hozelock product. Fits on to side of hose reels enabling attachment of the hose. I tried all the garden centres and DIY sheds to no avail to find one of these as they have a 5/8" thread and all the tap connectors which look the same are a different size.
