You can't really do the job with a hand crank. You need a drill to whip the cable around to really clean it.

Great little auger
Works amazing , smooth operation, easy to replace auger if you get it kinked up. you can find replacement augers at most hardware stores, wish it used a 3/8 auger but the 1/4 seems to do well , just don't try to feed the pipe to fast or it will kink up ( once its kinked its ruined and you need to find a replacement) i would definitely recommend this product !! Make sure you have a good drill... my Dewalt was a trooper , but if you have a little black and decker from Wal-Mart , your going to be in for a rough time if you have a severe clog , good luck !!
