BORESNAKE
This item is not a new idea. Using rope, twine and string with a patch or brush has been used since breech loading firearms were introduced. However, the bore snake combines both with the technology of nylon and good old cotton to go one better on bore rods, patches and brushes. By combining all three, a massive amount of time is saved cleaning your rifle or shotgun as one pass with the bore snake is like 20-30 with a normal rod and patch set-up. Get at least two of these for all your calibers, rifles, shotguns and pistols. Not worth the money
The weighted end is not heavy enough to pull the draw string through the bore. It took me nearly five minutes to physically push the draw string through the barrel. Once it came out the other end, it was extremely difficult to pull it through the bore. There are quite a few instances of the draw string on these Bore Snakes breaking or, the Bore Snake itself becoming bunched up and lodging in rifle barrels. If it does this, there is no way to remove it with damaging the bore. In light of the aforementioned, I believe I'll stick with the tried and true method of barrel cleaning.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great little tool
These have been around for a long time, but this is the first I've bought one. It's easy to use and really works. You're still going to need to run a dry patch through it with your normal kit before you shoot. Great way to clean your gun's bore.
When new, the BoreSnake fits a bit tight and requires significant force to pull it through the gun's bore. After a few passes, it became easier to pull. It does a great job and takes a lot less time than traditional bore cleaning systems. I'll be looking to get additional BoreSnakes for my other rifles and maybe even the pistols. save your barrel
This is not only the easiest way and the fastest way to clean your gun barrel, by far the best way! Why take a chance on damaging the crown on your barrel with a cleaning rod!! I'm 62 years old and have been cleaning gun barrels with a rod, brushes and patches for forty five years and I used to think this was a lazy mans way! These bore snakes are a quick, easy and effective way to clean your gun barrels. I highly recommend them for anyone that is a gun enthusiast. Great Cleaning product. I have for years used "stick" cleaning rods and NEVER liked them. Because of the small sized diameter for the .22 and the 5.56 many would break.
