    Best I have used

I have just got the item within 48hrs and have used it straight away on finishing putting in a new Alarm system . I did not expect something at this price working so well but it works as good as a gun 3 times the price (which it replaced). It is a complete kit with wire and a pot of flux as well as 2 spare tips. Just plug in and GO instant heat and the LED works great.

    bad product

Here's how it works: When you turn it on for the first time, warm it up well, and stick perfectly, just a few minutes after it gets warm, you can throw it on the window (in the cold), because it can not melt the solder anymore , so much so that it sticks well to the yarns, so simply do not cool the soldering iron all the time, you can not use it, so it costs a lot and you can not do the job with it; who did, believe, and beat us; I rushed to give a positive feedback, and I'm sorry!

  • Nice soldering iron

I revived my soldering skills with this gun. Despite being a little larger than the normal type it's still very good for soldering components to PCBs. I found it easy to manoeuvre and solder even the smallest capacities. There's a handy light which lights up the area you are soldering too. It has all the accessories you can need and is great for a part-timer like me!

  • use

unlike a conventional soldering iron where the iron can be coated with the solder this does not act as a host to the solder and the component has to be heated through conduction from the iron and the solder applied to the work which can be inconvenient at times ,other wise value for money

  • Cant wait to use it.

Delivery was right on time. The case is well designed and organised but can take a few other handy small items. Havent used it yet but had a less powerful one for years and was very happy with that so fingers crossed. Has a good weight to it without being cumbersome. Fast heat up time and well designed.

  • Better than expected

The first point to make about this kit is that is is far better quality than I expected. It arrived promptly and was well packed. I unpacked with some trepidation but was surprised by the quality of the soldering iron and the accessories that come with the 'gun' including two spare soldering tips all packed in a strong durable case. In use I've found it to be the equal of much more expensive soldering guns (borrowed) and very fast to heat up. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

  • Good for money

I like this, works well but the light broke the very 1st time I used it. Its not an essential element so it's ok

  • Good value for money but don't believe it gains 175W

Quite good build, tip fixing better than side screws but still not perfect and therefore reaching advertised 175W may be not possible. My very old gun (nominal 60W) with replaced screws to solid M4 (with strong tight) produce much stronger and rapid heat on the tip. Bottom line: Not as powerful as promised but it's still best and most powerful electric soldering gun available.

  • Amtech solder gun

I have to say not a lot of pros in my case.. It's a very small unit.. and ok on very small projects.. ? It will do for those. On the con side.. Doesn't hold it's heat.. not powerful enough to go above wire of 1.00 mm and upwards. You have to consider buying a heaver gun for the larger job.

  • Good for automobile wiring

Like all new soldering irons the tip needs to be tinned by dipping the hot tip in the flux and melting/flowing a little solder on it. As there is no mass of hot iron in the tool, I found it best to tin both the wire and the tag first. Then to place them together and apply fresh heat to melt them together. With a little practice I found this iron worked well for automobile or electrical wire soldering.
