My Dream Lathe PM 3520b
I've been using an older Delta 12" X 36" lathe built in the 50's and it couldn't do what I wanted it to be able to do. I've been wanting to buy a great lathe that could handle larger and heavier turnings and I started looking around at the Oneway lathe and the Robust lathe. The Oneway lathe's headstock doesn't slide on the bed, so that one was knocked out of consideration. The Robust lathe has all the features that I wanted, but it was over $3,000 more than the PM 3520b and couldn't really do anything that I wouldn't be able to do on the PM 3520b. The PM 3520b was easy to set up - with the help of my 2 son-in-laws; it's quite heavy!! - and it runs so smooth and so much quieter than my old Delta that it's like it's not even running. The digital speed control over 2 speed ranges is fantastic. It doesn't do the jigger-bug all over the floor if you put something heavy and out of round on it. All in all, a great lathe at a decent price. I was able to buy the PM 3530b from Bibb Tool & Cutter for $3,650 via Ebay. Great seller and fast delivery.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
