Electrician review, good value overall....
I bought this power supply on a budget for my (basic) electronics lab. I work as a qualified electrician so it's always fun to review dubious items on eBay. I noticed that it's very similar to many other 'brands' (or re-brands) on eBay and overall they have had mixed reviews from "amazing" to "caught on fire during use".... so naturally I was keen to see for myself. Here's my pro's and con's: Pro's: - The unit does indeed meet (and slightly exceed) it's 30V / 10A ratings - I tested the outputs, the voltage & current display is surprisingly accurate for both - Tested a constant 10A load over several hours with no issues, it kept nice and cool - Output banana plugs can connect bare wire which is handy (unscrew. insert, tighten) - The unit includes constant voltage & constant current modes which works well - Quality seems good - robust construction which is electrically safe, good fit & finish Con's: - The crocodile clips provided aren't good, very fragile with thin conductors (get's warm) - The 'fine-adjust' dials for both CV & CC are too coarse, but do work however - When you're using the CV mode, you can't see the CC setting (and visa-versa) - The units fan can be very noisy even with no load attached, seems unnecessary - There's no load-switch for the output which is annoying, and the manual states that the main power button on the front should not be used to turn on the unit with a load attached Overall I think this unit is great considering it's low price, it's a decent quality with accurate results and perfect if you're on a low-budget. However don't compare this to the big-brands which cost considerably more. I would recommend it to those on a tight budget, and even those with big-brand power supplies to be used as a backup.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

30 Volt 10 Amp DC Precision Variable Digital Adjustable Power Supply
The power supply arrived safely and in good condition due to it being very well packaged. The power supply is lightweight and very compact. The user manual does not inform as well as it could owing to a direct translation from Chinese into English by a person not sufficiently competant enough to do so. On startup for the first time, nothing happened when the power was turned on, this was because the power plug/socket at the back of the unit was not making proper contact, which was rather worrying, however, when the plug was pushed into the socket with more effort than I deemed necessary, the fan started to run and the meters lit up reading zeros. After another half hour, and reading the manual from front to back a few more times,I managed to get the power supply to function as it should. The quality and appearance of the looks very good and meters are very responsive and the readings seem to be accurate. Power to the People
For the price, this is an excellent bench power supply. Constant voltage and constant current modes both work properly and a 'soak test' of several hours showed no problems when charging a car battery, (in constant current mode), which was totally discharged and would not charge from a normal battery charger. I would like to have seen a facility to read the setting of the output current prior to connecting the load rather than having to connect the load first, also, there appears to be very little difference between the course and fine voltage/current adjustments but these are not shown stoppers. In terms of quality; I don't want to comment at this stage since I have used it only once, time will tell.....Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I concur with the other reviews in that this is an excellent piece of kit at the price or even twice the price. Accuracy on delivery is near enough not to bother the average user and the variance was only 0.3v at the 30 volt setting and from 1v to 12v it was 100% accurate according to my good quality multimeter. However, a simple calibration process for both volts and amps makes it totally accurate. The only let down of the rather naff test leads supplied with it but a half decent pair of CATII probes/leads won't break the bank. It is heavy and very well built, surprisingly well built! The proof of the pudding is in the use and after using it well for the last few days I am delighted with its performance. Even if it does pack up after two or three years, buying another at these prices just makes sense. Great Value
This power supply has been extremely useful, when you are working with lots of electronic components and boards its flexible ability to drive a wide range of voltages and currents saves a lot of time. Just plug it all in - set the necessary voltage and it'll provide up to 10 Amps of current too. Also handy as you can see the total current draw as you are working and understand the actual current demands of your built circuits. Only point of note is that the amps reading only goes down to .01 Amps resolution so diagnosing / reading relatively low current draws is not possible.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice and simple DC power supply

Good budget bench PSU
Much lighter than I expected it to be, works well and the overcurrent limit is a good feature that I've already tested out. The only negative that I can comment on is that the manual says that the load must be disconnected when you switch the power supply off/on. This is not something that I bother to do each time so I might blow the thing up in a few weeks but it's working fine so far.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
