  • Lightyears ahead of "lesser roasters" - well worth the investment

I've been roasting my own beans for many years, using an older Bravi drum roaster. While I did enjoy that old roaster, this one is really a lot easier to use and the results are much more consistent. I love the fact you can actually watch the beans roast, ensuring that you're going to get the roast level you want. It's really more of an air roaster than a radiant heat roaster (like the Bravi). That makes for a more consistent roast, though there are advantages to both (I feel the variation from the lighter to darkest beans in a roast adds character). The controls are easy to use and intuitive. The instructions can read a little overly complicated - basically, I just crank the heat to max, and use 15 minutes roast time, depending on the size and process of the beans I'm using. When I switch to a new bean, I just watch the roast as it gets close to done, to make any necessary last-minute adjustment. A well-designed, easy to use, and (presumably) reliable roaster I should be using for many years to come.
