If you are interested in the Zulu War this DVD gives you a 3 hour perspective ranging from the emergence of Shaka as leader of the Zulu nation up to and slightly beyond the defeat of the Zulus under Cetewayo in 1879. About 50 years of Zulu history is covered. The story is told using well presented enactments of events including of course Rorke's Drift and Isandhwana. Overall a very enjoyable experience with plenty of explanation, historical fact, action and finishing with Cetewayo being brought to England before returning to S.Africa and dying shortly thereafter. DVD is well made, of good quality print and sound, easy chapter headings to follow and excellent narration by John Hurt. You can buy this from Amazon, HMV and Play.com but at time of writing (May 09)trawling ebay was a cheaper way of acquiring it. Similar DVDs exist but although now cheaper, tend to be shorter (55 mins approx) as they were made earlier and concentrate more on Rorke's Drift. pet9000Read full review
