Do not let the size fool you when it comes to the Mirage OMD-5 main stereo speakers. These OMD-5 speakers are small enough to place on a bookshelf but powerful enough to produce the sounds your home theater system needs. The OMD-5 comes with a 1-inch tweeter that produces those sweet, lilting notes that make listening to music so enjoyable. A 5.5-inch titanium deposit hybrid propylene woofer balances the speaker pair out. This poly-titanium deposit hybrid woofer delivers deep, resounding bass that booms throughout the room.These devices have a curved driver unit and a rigid, insulated cabinet. These features allow each speaker in this set to deliver a great stereo experience to rooms of 500 square feet in size. This type of speaker delivers sound in all directions. Its flexible mid-range and bass frequencies are carefully balanced with the high treble notes to deliver a full audio experience. The surround omnipolar design emits up to 175 watts of power, and music sounds clean at every volume level.This set has a frequency response of 60 Hz to 20 kHz at positive or negative 3 dB. This wide range allows you to listen to AM/FM radio stations, CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs and hear every sound. They have an impedance of 6 ohms, and you can use them with a subwoofer or amplifiers rated within this range. You can even connect these products to multiple amplifiers, which is ideal for use in large, open rooms. At this impedance level, you will not hear any buzzing or static. The total harmonic distortion of each unit is less than 0.005%. When these products are operating, all you hear is the song. Their sensitivity of 90 dB ensures that the quietest tunes are picked up in every song. This system supports a 6.1 or 7.1 surround sound configuration. When you are playing music or watching movies, this results in sounds coming from all around you. Their amplifier output is 10 to 175 watts, which allows for flexibility in hearing both direct and reflected sounds. For convenience, this Mirage speaker set also mounts perfectly to the wall so they look out of the way but don't sound out of place. A high-gloss rosewood finish allows these great bookshelf listening systems to blend in with your other sound system products. The gloss finish is fully sealed to keep out dust and dirt. The features on these Mirage units help you create beats that sound live and in person. If dust collects on the outer surface, the finish can be cleaned and maintained with a damp cloth.This set of OMD audio accessories comes with an owner's manual. The included instructions explain how to connect the products to your soundstage, amplifiers, receivers, and subwoofers. It also provides guidance in the gauge of cables and wiring for different setup configurations. Wall mounting brackets and binding posts are included in the kit. My favorite bookshelves of all-time!
Klipsch made a huge mistake discontinuing the Mirage OMD lineup after their acquisition of Mirage. Unfortunately, they are becoming harder and harder to find. These speakers have an extremely WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor). She requested a pair in her exercise room and kitchen. The 6Ω load actually draws more power out of average receivers and amplifiers, with high sensitivity (unlike the OMD-28s which require massive power). They fill the room with spacious sound even when positioning is not ideal. Bottom line these are the most versatile speakers I have ever owned. They can be used as main stereo speakers, surrounds, Atmos heights, and even a center channel of a 5.1 setup. The WAF allowed me to have the larger OMD-28s in my media room and OMD-15s in our den.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
