A little too water tight....
good fit and great protection, but nobody can hear me talking. I had to pull the rubber plug that covers the charging port (and microphone) to be heard. Without the plug, it's not waterproof...oh well, i like it, just staying away from the pool.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I just received my preserver waterproof otterbox case about a week ago...as with any otterbox case it is extremely tough...a little too tough, in my opinion lol...the plastic is so tough and clips around your phone so air tight that you might need a flat screw driver or at least your teeth to open it if you ever need to change any component like the battery or the memory card...that's not something that bothered me too much since I don't really open my phone often except for when my screen freezes and I do appreciate the fact that it protects the phone so well in that manner...what is a complete fail to me is that people who I call or that call me cannot hear me because the case greatly diminishes the sound detection capabilities of my phone...people have trouble hearing what I say even when I have the charger plug removed or when I use the phone on speaker settings...I eventually got so frustrated that I just removed the water protecting screens from the back just to be able to communicate properly so now its no longer waterproof and people still can't hear me through the normal phone mic only speaker...oh well, just wanted to give my 2 cents about itVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Piece of junk
The item I received wasn't exactly as pictured. The speaker on top was just a rubber patch. It leaked testing it in the shower and almost ruined my phone. The leak was from the main seam between the halves. The case blocked the microphone, so nobody could hear me talk with the case on. Tried adjusting the foam pad and everything. Not recommended, not sure if I got a genuine otterbox or a fake. Screen protector is just a thin piece of flexible plastic, so it would not protect against impact. Decent cover, but requires some alteration.
The common complaint with this model is frequent "echoing feedback" for the person on the other end. I simply removed the rubber cover from the charging port and that corrected the issue. Sound sucks!
I bought 2 cases the same.. and you can not hear on either side through the head set speaker nor the talking speaker.. Every phone call was horrible.. no one can hear you though the case, and you can't hear anyone. And if there is any sound, it's extremely muffled. This phone give good protection again water and drops, but somehow it affects the speaker. When ur on a call its very static and you can hear and they cant hear. And no matter where u are. Great price poor performance
Case is a great cost and fits extremely well. Downside is when talking on the phone the person on the other end can barely hear what is being said. Don't waste your time or money.
Works for protecting your phone well but the buttons are very hard to push and sound is distorted on both sides of the call. Had to order a different one. A well made and robust case for your S4
This is a replacement for the LifeProof Fre case, which I used for 4 years. By comparison, this case has: 1. more heft, it feels more substantial, rigid, and durable; so the impact resistance is more believable. 2. somewhat better audibility through the water-resistant speaker and microphone enclosures. 3. a better system for accessing the USB and earphone jacks (the Fre broke here repeatedly). 4. better protected windows for camera lenses and IR LEDs. 5. the case seals are very tight, so the phone can't escape - and you will probably want a tool to help open it. 6. the design does not readily lend itself to modification for accessories like a Flir camera.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
