Solo S2 vs. S3
While many reviewers have stated the Solo's range to not be as good as a wired unit, it is fine for my purposes and I find it helpful. My only complaint with the S2 is the difficulty of the LCD screen to be read in daylight. The S3 addresses this which is a big improvement and for me, worth the upgrade even though other specifications appear to be the same. I owned this dector previously and I know it well. This one has issues with the volume not in the correct setting. Example: I have it set for medium volume and it barely sound. One of the Best Portable Radar Detectors
The Solo S2 is the perfect fit for someone not looking to break the bank on a new radar detector. Switching this unit between my car and motorcycle is easy plus the power saving features allow me to run two AA Energizer battery’s for over a month! Despite the age of this model, it still gives accurate alerts and the built in speaker is plenty loud for use on two wheels. Solo 2 Just as Good as Solo 3
I had been using a Solo 3 for sometime and decided to put a detector in my second car. I got tired of transferring the unit from one car to the other and sometime forgetting it.
