  • Solid and roadworthy.

I have used the Shure 56 for a long time, since it was first released. It is reliable even when a drummer waks the thing. I have seen this mic droped, thrown, and yes, used as a hammer and it works and sounds good after all the abuse. This mic is one of my go to mics for toms and I really like it for drummer vocals as it stay out of the way of flailing arms and stixs. The tone is not flattered like some "drum mics" and for me this gives it more versatility. I can use it for a metal concert one day, a recording session with some as players, or take it out for outdoor orchestra concerts, and it always gives a good account of itself.

  • Great for drummer vocals!

A great mic originally designed for toms and percussion- it works great on vocals too. Particularly drum vox; the beta element picks up the voice directly in front of the mic, while discriminating against the off-axis noise- like cymbals and snare. The body is short and stubby, with the xlr cable at right angle leaving much more space in front of the drummer.s hands than the usual vocal mic.

  • Great sound for live performances. Very happy with this product.

I received this article almost new with a price of used, the sound is amazing and I am very pleased of this great microphone. I am using for live performance over my snare drum and also from home studio recording and it is doing a wonderful job.

  • Good mic for Singing Drummers

I'm a singing drummer in a Rock band and have used various mics through the years. the Shure Beta 56a is a great option for this purpose, it's pretty good at rejecting side noise and reduces bleed from your drums, it's also a small profile. I just got it and have done one gig, i definitely noticed the sound quality to be as high as my other mics I've been using and the isolation was much better.

  • Using the Shure beta 56 mic.

This mic has great range with the ability to use as a vocal mic as well. I am a drummer and using the beta 56 enables me to set it up with an overhead boom an gooseneck and really save space in my playing zone.

  • Mexican Microphone

This could be a replica of a Shure USA microphone. Shure did make USA products, but not this one. I am skeptic of these once USA companies that now import their 'once made in USA' products from countries like India, Bangladesh, Mexico, China, Pakistan, as an example. These non-USA imports contain large amounts of lead and other heavy metals that, if manufactured in the USA, would not contain toxic substances. I would say, since this is not a USA product, that was once a USA product, the retail price should be under $100.00 for a made in Mexico product. If this microphone was a true USA product, then the price I paid, of $135.00, would be reasonable.

  • Great mic

This mic is the perfect solution for me. I am a singing drummer and could not find a headset mic that sounded even 10% as good as this one.

  • Beta 56a

Good mic , well suited for insturments , as well as Drummer vocals . Small footprint makes it ideal and same internal elements as a beta 57 so sound quality is up to par

  • Great mic

Works great for all intended purposes. Is a little heavy for some traditional drum mic clips, but works great!
