This item was delivered battered !! The cover and insides were ripped & torn. It has pen written on some of the DVDS and were all just thrown in with no order. I can NOT believe this was checked before being sold. Won’t be buying ever again !!

ITS A HARD ACT TO FOLLOW WHEN YOU TRY AND REMAKE A CLASSIC BRITISH COMEDY AND I THINK THATS WHY ALOT OF PEOPLE DONT LIKE THIS SERIES. I LOVE RICKY GERVAIS'S ORIGINAL VERSION BUT THIS IS A GREAT SERIES ON ITS OWN. NOT AS SUBTLE AS THE BRITISH VERSION BUT STEVE CARELL AS MICHAEL SCOTT IS A GREAT CASTING CHOICE. ALOT MORE SLAP STICK THAN THE ORIGINAL BUT STILL HAS SOME SUBTLE COMEDY WITH CARELL AT THE CENTRE OF MOST OF THE COMEDY WITH HIS CHARACTER SOO KEEN TO BE LOVED BY EVERYONE. AND WITH THE LOVE TENSION BETWEEN JIM AND PAM ALSO BRINGING CRINGE WORTH AND VERY FUNNY MOMENTS. AND DWIGHT AS THE EAGER TO PLEASE RIGHT HAND MAN TO MICHAEL IS A FAVOURITE OF MINE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOX SET BUT JUST TRY AND FORGET THE BRITISH VERSION AND JUDGE IT ON ITS OWN MERITS.
I bought this because I caught a few episodes on comedy central. I also really enjoyed our version but dear old Ricky only stopped at 2 series! The 1st two series are very similar to our own in terms of script, the main difference being that when one of the staff moves branches, the cameras follow him in the american version. Makes for excellent watching, Steve Carell is awesome in it, there is slightly more seperation between the characters being an american series, the comedy is a little more obvious than our own and i personally found it better. It clearly has a bigger budget based on the success of our non-budget version so they have been able to afford to inject some of the humour using props etc, its so good that I barely remember our version! sorry Ricky!
Now into it's 5th series, I think it's better than the original British series, and the "boss" is even more toe-curlingly embarassing than Ricky Gervais.
Great entertainment, prompt delivery, just what it says on the box! The American version has more extended characters but some story lines follow the British version although loosely based.
