A great R&B album by the little sister of Beyonce. A lot of people like to compare them but they really have quite different styles. After listening to this album I definitely have a preference for Solange's style. Standout tracks include Sandcastle Disco, 6 O'Clock Blues, Ode to Marvin and I Decided - pt 2. I like how the album has kind of an old school feel to it and seems to stay true to what i would call classic R&B. Its definitely something different compared to other contemporary artists.
This is a surprisingly good modern r-and-b album from Solange (Knowles), the younger sister of Beyonce. I read a very positive review if this album in Word magazine a while ago, and have been trying to obtain a copy of it at a reasonable price ever since. Luckily, I have now been able to do that and the album has been worth the wait. It's a huge improvement on Solange's earlier recorded offerings, and preferable, and more likeable, than most of her sister's work. Full of good, and sometimes slightly off-beat, songs, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams should have been more successful than it was. The Neptunes produced I Decided, here in two parts, is a Motown influenced hit that never was. The stand-out track is the epic This Bird, which samples Boards of Canada of all bands. Hopefully, Solange will be able to build on her good work here to produce more impressive music, come out of the shadow of her older sister and enjoy the success she deserves.Read full review
exactly what i had expected a great album from a great singer full on knowles style. A must buy for all you Knowles Fans out there
Cheaper to buy than from the shops, its good to have people selling items that are affordable,will definatly be buying more CD's and games extra.
