Works perfectly
My tap water has 80 ppm nitrate. No matter how many water changes I did with it I added nitrate to the aquarium. This system removes 100% of the nitrate (according to an API test kit) . The inlet and outlet are Hoselock fittings. I connect a hosepipe from the tap to the inlet and a piece of hose to the outlet and fill a water carrier. So easy. Massively disappointed
I bought the nitrate filter on 22nd March,it is now the 29th March and my nitrates are right back to been realy high again,I have had a maximum of 120lt out of it,I ran the water through it realy slowly as advised,I was waiting about an hour and a half for 20l! At first it was brilliant i had excellent readings of nearly zero nitrate I was over the moon with it but I cannot afford to replace them every few days it is absolutly ridiculous. Nitrate removal from tap water.
The filter was curiously supplied with hose fitting connections. The hose couplings provided have none returned valves which would block the supply of water at the inlet rendering it useless. In any case, for internal domestic use one would hardly use a hose pipe. These fittings were discarded and quarter inch BSP X 10mm pipe fittings were employed. The usual problems were evident with the plastic threads. However, installing the filter was easy enough once the thread problems were resolved and a nitrate test on the results was 100% free of nitrate. My kitchen sink tap has an auxiliary third valve which proves excellent as I only need the nitrate free water for my aquarium to reduce algae growth. One could recommend this product for it’s efficacy but if it is intended for internal use it may be worth asking for it to be supplied with 10mm pipe fittings to avoid the subsequent additional expense. We got this as our tap water is at about 40-50ppm nitrates and that means either using reverse osmosis water or a filter. I went for the filter as a cheap option and am very happy. I'm not really sure if you're meant to turn the taps up full and it handles the output volume itself. I just keep my taps low so I get about 1-2 litres per minute out of it. Testing the output water, I get 0ppm nitrates. Perfect! I have only used it for 2 or 3 changes so far so can't speak to longevity of the filter. I will just test the water regularly to check it still works and I have a spare filter ready for the time it needs changing.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A great to manage nitrate.
If your tap water has lot of nitrate then get this. It makes a massive and controllable difference when doing water change. It takes out all nitrate and leaves you completely in control. Nitrate Removal
So far so good, I have naturally high nitrates in my water which made cycling the tank a massive pain. I carried out a test before and after and it took the nitrate level down to 0ppm from 30ppm, this filter is a godsend

The secret to this is to slowly run your tap water through the filter ie. Took 20 mins to fill a 10 litre bucket see attached photo api test kit used the one on the left straight from tap 20ppm of nitrate the one on the right after filter 0ppm of nitrate excellent product
