Shadow of the Colossus has without a doubt been an exemplar in the video game industry over the past decade, in terms of its unparalleled gameplay innovation, astonishing overall quality and its depiction of art. This PS2 original is even the most cherished item in my opinion, among the game's several iterations as there have been both re-releases for PS3 and PS4. Some may argue that Bluepoint has done a job so marvelous that no one would go back to play the PS2 original, of which the first half of the statement I do fully agree with, but with the second half. Certainly the remake brought by Bluepoint is a masterpiece in its own right, well established upon what made the original a classic, but betwixt the splendors, many parts still shine brighter in the PS2 original simply because of its gorgeous use of art, specifically the camera language, the structuring of any given image, and the colour tones among other things that are expressed strongly and make it unique. I really feel glad that I can still get a brand new and factory-sealed copy of the UK Collector's Edition for this game in year 2018, in a perfect condition. Opening the seal of this item 12 years after it was made is a special sensation to me. In the DVD-ROM there are even a couple of art drawings in the 'Gallery' and a Making of Movie along with an Ico Trailer. The tangible items include a user manual and 4 art cards, which are not much but the package was done so beautifully, making this version easily the best version you want to have in your collection.Read full review

Shadow of the colossus ( SOTC ) is one of the greatest games I have ever played.I first saw SOTC back in 2009 on youtube and thought I should buy it.I enjoyed nearly everything about this game because of how well the story line and gameplay was created. I didn't dislike alot about this game. The only problem is the aiming system when trying to shoot arrows at the 10th boss.I was glad after 2 weeks I finally got to best bosses of the game and it will be enjoyable for anyone else who plays this.I gave my friend the PS3 version for his birthday and he thinks that Agro is dumb. The graphics are realistic in my opinion. My favorite thing to do is to revist any colossi I have already beaten and just play with them or ride them around the area.
Game works great and the item is in excellent condition

To be honest I'm not a fan of fighting games and big boss fights, however this game really did grab me. It's quite difficult but so rewarding when you do defeat a monster. The huge vast landscape is amazing to ride around on the horse. So huge! Sadly the PS2 low resolution is what let's this game down in 2019. Watching the same game on PS4 is spectacular, whereas this now looks low resolution, fuzzy, and quite dark. It's still an impressive game though

I'll keep this short and simple Pro's: + the game never gets boring + the monsters and landscape look beautiful + it's huge in terms of monster boss size, and world scale. + there're few other games like this + the soundtrack is incredible and matches the game brilliantly + the controls work great Con's: - the graphics in general are okay but for a PS2 game the textures look off mainly on the protagonist. - it is just a game where you fight bosses over and over again and nothing else - there is next to no plot
