Use for something else
Don’t get over excited about use as a ‘parasol base’. Although all-metal construction these only weigh 2kg tops. They are 87cm across with legs deployed. The centre plate actually sits 4cm above the floor with the legs out and the top of the centre cylinder is then 32cm above ground. It wouldn’t take much breeze to blow your parasol over - unless you supplemented the gadget with extra weights or some big U staples knocked into the earth perhaps. I bought a couple aimed at being free standing bases for survey poles instead and they were found ideal for that, or perhaps they could be used for (low height) free standing temporary signage. Dark grey. The 4 feet each lock either in folded or open position with sprung catches, and the feet and base plate are all spot welded. The leg pivots are through-rivets and there is a small bit of play, each could be replaced with a nut and bolt if you were of a mind. Reasonable value, but if you seek a garden parasol base for use straight out of the box go for something far heavier or one that can be filled with water perhaps.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Main tube housing too short
It isn't fit for purpose. The main tube that you add your umbrella to is far to short, when umbrella is opened you have to duck to get under it once sitting it's fine,But you would easily walk into the umbrella as it's not tall enough. Okay for people 4ft tall. Purchased to use with our large framed tilt umbrella so its larger than a table based umbrella if it was used for a table umbrella it would be worse.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good product.
Once I figured out how to open the thing, no instructions included, I found this to be a clever useful item. Well made and not to heavy. I think the idea is to buy additional weights to fit on base legs but I found 4(or two) 12inch paving slabs are more than sufficient. And if the wind gets worse just plonk a few bricks on too. Not for heavy parasols
