I guess I was a bit deceived by the book cover as I thought the book was going to be ALL about the Village People; meaning that it would go into depth about each member. Although the book does touch lightly on how the group started, etc., this book takes you thru a journey of gay history instead. Many gay icons are discussed in the book, ranging from Alexander the Great to Rock Hudson, etc. Most of the individuals that were mentioned as being gay are common knowledge to most gay people. I was hoping for more personal information on each VP member; I mean, we all knew that Glenn was a toll collector in NY; I wanted to learn something new and fresh! I was also disappointed in the photos. They were very limited, and could have been in color. At $35, I found this item well over priced for only some 200 pages.Read full review
