Compact and very flexible
I'll put my hand up now, I'm more hairy biker than cook, I bought these for addition to my bike toolkit when touring. Spare fuel cans can be difficult to pour, particularly metal cans, without making a mess and wasting fuel. Spouts often are bulky and often not very effective, even the plastic screw on type and carrying a funnel is just such a faff not even thinking about the space constraint. This seemed to be a good solution. Small, light and flexible enough to take up almost no space and be squeezed into the tiniest gap in your luggage. My only concern was compatibility with petroleum products. Well after testing, I have not noticed any immediate degradation with petrol contact, even left soaked in petrol for long enough for it to eveporate. Conclusion, I'm happy that it'll do the job for my needs, probably also be fine with diesel and lub oils which are less aggressive, no more dribbles down the side of the engine casings. Added bonus is that it offers some protection between filler neck and damage from metal cans and conforms around a fixed filler cap without having to sit at a difficult angle. A welcome addition to my carried tools and might well even scrub up if needed for on the road cooking. Recommended for Si & Dave.
