Excellent technology for cordless tools.
I recently found a Black & Decker 20v MAX cordless drill laying on the street. It had a few scuffs on it and the battery was a couple of feet away so it must have fallen off of someone's vehicle. Although the battery is holding its charge nicely, we all know they eventually run down and need to be recharged, so I needed to find a charger. The most cost effective solution turned out to be this battery and charger combo. The charger is very compact and will charge the battery in three to four hours, depending on how far it is discharged, and has the requisite protective circuitry to prevent overcharging. Using the same technology as batteries for laptops and cell phones, the lithium ion battery pack itself is compact and relatively lightweight compared to the bulky nickel cadmium battery packs my older 18v cordless drill uses and it also lasts longer. And unlike NiCad batteries, lithium ion batteries don't develop a 'memory effect' if subjected to repeated shallow charges, that is, recharging before it's completely depleted; in fact, the instruction booklet recommends putting the battery on the charger after each use and keeping it there until the next time you need it. That way, you always start out with a fully charged battery, thus minimizing the frustration of running out of juice halfway through a project. And with the second battery that came with this charger, I can now run one down, swap in the other one and keep going while the first one charges.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good value choice, not best quality
On the bright side, it works with the tool I bought it for (Black & Decker string trimmer) and charges with the original charger. It was also wayyy cheaper than getting an original battery, and I was still able to finish my entire yard. With my single battery I had to choose whether my front yard or back was the one to get done today. My only complaint is the single-charge life of this battery. My original battery is 1500 mAh and lasts about 20-25 minutes; this 3.0Ah (3000 mAh, so "double" the life) only lasted about 35 minutes. Given that this is a cheap knockoff of the original Black & Decker battery, I'd say I got what I paid for and expected. It wasn't a waste of money, but if you want a truly long-lasting battery, you may want to go with the name brand.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Lithium Rechargeable Batter
Really does a nice job. Charges in less than a couple of hours and has tons of power. I use if for my Black and Decker Drill/Shears Combo and its great. Excellent Spare!

Strong battery
The 3 amp lithium battery I got came mostly charged so I tried it right away in my 24v(yes, 24v) Firestorm drill with a modified 18v adapter(cut the little nub off the adapter top). This 20v battery felt as strong as the 24v nicad battery I use. Very satisfied so far. Hope it lasts. Will probably get another as the nicads are getting shorter use each time, and hard to charge. These 20v batteries are a lifesaver for the older 24v tools when used with the modified 18v adapter. And they’re less expensive! UPDATE: I subsequently bought the 4 amp version of this Vanon battery in order to have more run time, and it is also strong enough to run my 24v tools. Just keep going
I have a really nice Black and Decker Power Tool Kit my wife got me from SAMS Club. It only came with one battery. I'm installing a new wooden fence around my house. By having the second battery, I can just change batteries and keep going. Instead of having to stop and wait for the one battery to charge up again. I switch battery and place the one I was using to charge and I just keep going. Since the purchase of the second battery I am making much more progress. Its a good quality battery and was purchased for a good price. Charges up quick and lasts as long as he original battery. Has saved me a great deal of time and trouble. Extra Battery
