Excellent and Versatile blade!
Strongest lock in the game opens with a hard "Thwack!" as the lock engages✔
Rock solid construction (no blade play)✔
Super sharp edge on the AUS 10A steel right out of the box✔
Great ergonomics for multiple grip options✔
Hard to disengage lock right out of the box✔
Easier to disengage the lock after a few days of use and flicking open (as expected from other Cold Steel mega folders)✔
Fairly stiff pocket clip right out of the box✔
Pocket clip looses stiffness within a couple days of being taken in and out of pocket✔
The zytel handles eat up jeans when clipped to pocket✔
Knife gives its owner a sense of security in any situation when carried✔
Sleek design hides well in the pocket✔
Great sharpening choil for ease of re-sharpening✔
Takes a mean edge easily and holds said edge for a long time ( compared to former AUS 8A and CTS BD1 models)✔
Fit and finish on par with other Cold Steel mega folders✔
I own many Cold steel mega folders Rajah 2, Hold Out 1, Voyager XL both clip point and tanto, and a Ti lite 6.
The Counter Point Xl is a cross between both the hold out 1 as it's blade is fairly wide but a bit heavier overall and ti lite 6 as it has the same blade shape/size but wider, more sturdy, and comes with a tri-ad lock.
I highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a substantial blade to carry everyday with the versatility of skinning an apple, whittling wood, breaking down cardboard, food prep, or for self defense option. This is 1 knife that can easily fill the role of it's owners multiple needs without disappointment.
Priced very well so it won't break the bank (I'm looking at you Espada L/XL and Talwar XL) so the owner will not be hesitant to actually USE the knife and enjoy.
