The two batteries on my APC BX1400Ui UPS died. Although these UPS batteries are not supposed to be replaced (you are supposed to just recycle the entire unit!!), it's actually easy to do (and there are lots of YouTube videos that explain how). I purchased two of the NP7-12L as replacements and they were less than one-third the price of the APC equivalent, and far less than the cost of replacing the entire unit. Be careful as there is also a NP7-12 variant of the Yuasa battery which has smaller connectors (4.8mm) and these are too small for the APC BX1400Ui connectors which are a 6.3mm connection. Also be aware that the original APC battery looks like it is a 12V, 9Ah battery whereas the Yuasa is 12V, 7A so you will get a slightly shorter run-time out of the UPS, but for me the cost saving more than makes up for this. It gives out the most lovely volts, at least 12 of them, and it claims to have 7 amps for at least an hour It is truly a thing of great beauty and I couldn't resist buying a pair of them so they would have some company for each other. I had to search youtube for a video to see how to take the UPS apart with destroying the plastic retaining tags of the case. I removed the aged batteries. They are glued together with a self adhesive foam pad. It is possible to remove and use the pad if you are careful. The new batteries worked perfectly, first time. A few short power disconnect tests and all is fine. A good choice for replacements.
