Fender flats - underrated
I think probably D'Addario Chromes are the best. However, you can't go wrong with Fender. They last a very long time. Maybe for years. I use them on a fretless bass. Great tension and tone. The BEST bass strings!
Fender 9050L (Gauges: 45-60-80-100) are the best bass strings I've ever owned. Not kidding,...no exaggeration. Effortless and incredible fun to play, they are far more comfortable to use than the more typical round wound strings. These flat wound bass strings have the sound you've been looking for all along and have heard on countless albums. The Fender 9050L strings are quite reasonably priced as well. Makes a world of difference!
I bought these to replace the standard strings on my Ibanez bass. These flat wounds have taken this bass from physically painful to play to an absolute joy to play on!
