Its an excellent replacement / upgrade for my old Sony NWZF 639 which I've used for longer than i can remember. The NWA 55 has a tuner and buying it from a dealer abroad it comes without the volume restrictions that are reportedly on models from within the EU.
Subsequent models dont seem to have the tuner in them as well. . I've put a Sony 128GB micro SD HAC card in it and Im filling it up with the CD collection via Windows Media Player and then Sony Music Center. The additional stage of the Sony Music center seems to be advisable and when loading CDs they get picked up by the Sony Software without any extra fiddling about. This is all on a Windows 10 PC.
The sound quality via Bose noise cancelling headphones is very good. It took me a while to find my way round on it but it gradually reveals all its tricks and add ons. It does have Blue tooth within it and transfers music very well to a Bose bluetooth speaker with a LAYEN bluetooth receiver in the old iphone4 slot. Any modern Bluetooth speaker would be fine too
I also play it via a Yamaha WXC50 into a Hifi amplifier with its own speakers
I've got 350 CDs in it so far and no problem loading them all aphabetically from the Album listing in the SonyMC software. The music output quality is great. Would recommmend it.
