Perfect replacement.
After my wife and I banged our heads within a couple days of each other because the tailgate wasn't all the way up, I decided to replace the original Ford struts. The tailgate would have gone all the way up but it had been taking more effort than usual for a while. These struts are easy to fit and have made it less of an effort to get the tailgate all the way up and once past a certain point it will go up by itself. Also lubricating the hinges has helped. I painted mine blue because I like to personalise my car and it also adds extra protection against corrosion although I think these wouldn't corrode for many years. Removing just one of the old struts will allow the tailgate to drop so you might need an assistant. I propped up mine with my head! I recommend these struts if you need them.

Excellent replacement part!
Bought these for my Mk2 focus boot which kept trying to eat me as the old pistons just wouldn't hold the tailgate up properly or for very long. They were so easy to replace and these were a perfect fit! They work so well that I'm still getting used to not having to physically lift the tailgate when opening the boot now. It's back to how the car should be. Hopefully they last as long but obviously time will tell. Overall so far very happy and would definitely recommend these!
