I am now on my second RF adapter for my NES these things are just hit and miss. The one that I got this time seems more solid but I've been babying it so far. The last one I had had the metal pin brake on me inside of my Nintendo and I had to fish it out of it with pliers. I wish that Nintendo would still make these but you have to buy aftermarket items if you lose or break something. I recommend that if you have to buy one to go ahead and get one but when you get it don't start moving your NES to different TVs, put it somewhere that it can stay because these pins are so fragile and are extremely easy to break (and if it does hope its not in your Nintendo.)
Hooking up my old NES system, I found that my HDTV didn't recognize the input signal from the audio/video cable connections. The composite signal was detected using the rf switch, and the system worked like a charm!

This is truly one of the pioneers for video games. It seems to be getting harder and harder to be able to go back and play the games you remember as a kid. You can find complete systems at a premium, but if you have the time shop for them on eb. You can pick up the necessary parts to make a complete system just as I did with this RF adapter. Now I have a working vintage system that will AGAIN provide hours of entertainment.
So happy to have this. I can now play my games and show my grandkids how to play also!
