The Casio G-Shock-G2900 wristwatch for men is a multi-function digital powerhouse designed, like any G-Shock, to withstand the toughest shocks. The watch has a 49.5 body made from hard side/ABS plastic, features a quartz movement with digital display, and contains a battery rated to last approximately 10 years. This G-Shock comes with password-protected E-Data memory that can handle data such as email addresses, web page URLs, and other text data. The watch can store 40 sets of data of up to seven characters in length in the E-Data memory, with the actual number of records depending on the number of characters per record. Passwords to secure the E-Data memory can be up to four digits long. If you forget your password, you will have to initialize the watch, which will remove all data from the memory, so make sure to use a password that can be easily remembered but difficult for others to decipher. The Casio G-Shock-G2900 is designed to keep you on track and on time with its four alarm types – daily, date, 1-month, and monthly – and one snooze alarm and a countdown timer with a range of a minute to 24 hours. Its World Time function includes 29 time zones across 27 cities, a city code display, and a daylight savings time on/off switch, ensuring you are able to keep time wherever you may be located. The watch can show the time in either a 12- or 24-hour format and signal hourly time, emitting a low sound that you can hear clearly but would not disturb those near you. There is also an auto calendar pre-programmed until the year 2039 so that you always have the correct day and date on hand. Aside from being shock-resistant, it is also water -resistant up to 200 meters, making it suitable for surfing and other surface water sports, even in saltwater. An auto EL backlight with afterglow means that the display can be viewed in the dark and regardless of lighting conditions. The watch features an auto-repeat function and a 1/100 second stopwatch with multiple measuring modes (elapsed time, split time, and 1st-2nd place times), making it ideal for running workouts on or off the track. Watch accuracy is rated at +/- 15 seconds per month. The band is made from molded resin and has a buckle closure. The features on this watch were exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a watch that I could just glance at to see the time, date and day of the week. I like where the light button is located. The watch band is very comfortable to me but, it does hold the sweat from my arm. Not a very large watch. Just a little smaller than a Casio G-100 watch. Nice for the price
The G-shock is aptly named and takes abuse well. Casio has improved the band since I got my last one and it is much more pliable. I wore the last one like this for about nine years and it still works great on the original battery but the original strap had to be replaced several times.
