  • Sherman DIGITIG 200GD

I have used it a bit, its easy to set up, feels reliable and made from decent products. So far i have welded stainless steel and iron and it made an even steady weld with a constant current and nice flow. The handle is bigger and heavier than the more expensive machines and therefore feels a little clumsy, but if you think about your stand and get som good arm support it works quite well. I work full time as a welder and of course i feel the difference from the heavy duty work machines, but its a decent welder in general and i would say a great welder considering the price range.

  • Excellent Welder, don't forget the UK VAT since Brexit

Really good quality home / light business use welder with all the controls of a much more expensive unit, works well excellent on thick and thin Aluminium. good quality, nicely finished and looks robust. used for about 10 days and all good so far. only downside is that due to Brexit you have to pay UK VAT via FEDEX prior to getting UK customs clearance. So allow for VAT and clearance charge

  • Amazing Welder, Why Pay More?

This is an absolutely stunning welder for the money. The arc is very stable on AC and DC. The controls are precise and easy to adjust. The unit feels good quality, it is heavy but not overly so and casing is sturdy. The pedal really surprised me how robust it is and controls current steplessly up to that set by pot on side of pedal. The spring in the pedal is maybe slightly stiffer than I would like but not to the point that you would get fatigued pressing it down. The control panel can be a little hard to read due to glare from red LEDs, but not really a problem as you remember which is which anyway. The torch it comes with is adequate but I don't like using wp26 torches anyway so I plumped for a CK17F with a 35-50 dinse / quick gas connector for £80 from rapid which is what I will use for 95% of what I do. People say it is noisey. In my opinion it is similar to other IGBT units, it isn't quiet but nothing that bothers me. The only annoying thing is that it doesn't turn it's fan off automatically like some units do, but I just switch the power off while prepping joints. Note that to use the pedal you have to hold in the control knob for 3 seconds for it to switch to REM. Took me a minute to figure that out. Shipping was free and fast to UK, no import charges and the Allweld team have been really kind and helpful already. Overall, if you just can't stretch to the 1200 you need to buy an R-tech unit then this is a no brainer and you won't regret it. Obviously time will tell with regard to reliability so I will check back in a year or so to tell you how I get on, but I got the 24 month warranty so hopefully things will be good.

  • Exelant machine for the money

This is my first tig welder I knew a little bit about what to buy as I done tig welding in the past I was going to get a orange machine which is pretty much the same but £1170 and after looking at both machines the sherman was about the same quality if not better for half the price couldn't fult the machine as an idea of how much I used it i went through a 9L bottle of argon in a day so I put it through a roughth day hahah definatly a recommended machine

  • Sherman digitig 200 ac dc

after changing the plug ,and sussing out you need to press the main control knob to light up the remote light, I have run it at times flat out doing 7 alloy wheels on ac ,and making tools and steel window fittings on DC , I do want to alter the torch angle when I have time

  • Capable machine.

Certainly feels like a quality machine, Works well and brilliant for Aluminium welding which is what it was bought for. Only let down by my limited skill. Hopefully that will improve. Only downside is being in Poland , VAT is chargeable on entry to the UK. So far no tariffs until Jan1st.

  • Does what it says in the box.

Great product for the price, I only use this welder as a hobby machine and so far it has been very good. I have tried welding up to 6mm Ali and Stainless so far and it has handled with ease. I would like to use this product over the next year and then do a review if possible.

  • Great machine for the price.

Excellent machine for it's price. Easy to use if you have some comprehension of TIG welding. It is quite forgiving if you are completely clueless but it does have a MMA system to fall back on. Comes with everything you need to start welding except the mask, ARGON gas and regulator which you'll have to aquire yourself. It only TIG welds up to 5-6mm but for stainless or aluminium welding that should be plenty and for mild steel you have the MMA side of the welder. If you're just starting out then I advise practice, practice, practice which means obtaining lots of off cuts of stainless and aluminium metal and various electrodes and filler rods which gets expensive but it's worth it in the long run.

  • Tig

It's not better than expected, it is ok but could do with a foot pedal. Beware of extra duty to be paid upon arrival in UK
