Excellent Capacitor for the price!
Headlights dimming when your subs hit hard? Want the boom to go bump a little more? The Boss Audio CPBK2 2 Farad Capacitor does an excellent job for the price! After installing my bass hits harder and at night time I don't see my headlights dimming when the beat drops! This capacitor simply gets the job done at a very affordable price. Please Note: - The wiring diagram included with this capacitor does show the use of a distribution block, please purchase an amplifier distribution block to use with your amplifier. - The general rule of thumb is 1 Farad per 1,000 Watts. So if you have a 1,000 watt amplifier you need at least a 1 Farad Capacitor. You can use larger farad capacitors on smaller amplifiers but best to match accordingly unless you plan on expanding your system in the near future. Tips: - Always pre-charge your capacitor, instructions are included as well as a resistor. - Disconnect your ground wire to battery so the amp is not active. - Connect the capacitor ground first, DO NOT ground the capacitor on the same spot as your amplifier it can cause a loop. Then connect power from the battery (unhook your amplifier battery cable and connect to capacitor using the resistor (included) to charge your capacitor - DO NOT charge the capacitor without the resistor! WARNING - DO NOT CHARGE WITHOUT USING INCLUDED RESISTOR! - If you hear a constant beeping noise and the voltage display shows voltage going down this means your ground wire is not grounded correctly or possibly coming loose check it. - The voltage display will only work when you connect the remote wire. Yes, you can connect a wire to the remote on your amplifier and run it to your capacitor as well to avoid running two remote wires from the source. - There are some excellent tutorials online including videos. *Always be careful when wiring anything in your vehicle whether it be a new radio, in-dash tv, amplifier, speakers, or capacitors. The best method is to simply unplug your negative battery cable so power is not supplied to the vehicles devices.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
