Electric Razor versus "The Blade"
I have only had a few electric razors, and actually was never impressed with any. A barber used this shaver on my 2-3 day face hair a few months ago and I was so surprised at the blade like finished feel that at once I started searching for one at a good price because it shaved me like a blade with shaving cream. It is by far the best of the few razor I have used, even when I had to borrow a friends on a rare occasion, none compared. It was also as fast or quicker then a blade shave and less mess with out the foam and water clean up. When I finish I just use compressed air can after remove easily the foil cap and blow it out. I do take off the cap two times and tap out first cut hairs so not to have much sit inside while I shave. So again so far the best razor, after all babbers use it for work professionally. Check the reviews on youtube yourselves. I am human and not affiliated with Wahl in any way. I did have a very few flat hairs the razor did not cut, but this is my first use, and all razors being different all need be learned haw to cut each person hair and face shape. Power is great with no fluctuation, or weird noise, cuts like a work horse. It can be used with or with out cord. Ok, dats all folks, Aloha and enjoy, from a heavy beard hair man. Poor construction
The foil was not well connected to the cover . After a short and careful use the foil came loose from the little plastic projections that looked like they should have been sealed with a hot iron. Otherwise I like the shaver and I bought the replacement foils as spares for future use. The original foils are still good therefore I still use the shaver. Great shaver cutter
The silver rather than the gold is better because it lasts much longer. Shave real close except for next area which I would rate poor probably because it has no attachment like many shaver for getting underneath the chin. Thios is maddening to me because I have to use a different shaver or lather up underneath and shave with a blade in anticipation of a bloody mess. Perhaps Wahl has a different model with a separate cutter for underneath the chin. Still, I would recommend this shaver accepting this one defect. FredVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Somrthing missing
I have had a half dozen of these shavers over the years. The model name and numbers changed a few times. The last one I bought was a System 4000 cord/cordless, color black. So, imagine my surprise when I purchase the pretty burgundy Shaver/Shaper, and the trimmer, which is used for shaping, is missing. Looks like false advertising to me. Shame on Wahl. Never-the-less, the shaver is excellent. Comes with the "Super Close" foil which is all I use to get a really close shave.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Wahl 5 star electric razor
Good quality product for the value paid, gives a close shave with no razor burn. The negative aspects are a very loud operation as it uses a vibrator type power source. If your used to a razor that has a pop-up type sideburn clipper you will miss that as this razor does not have that feature.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Wahl super close needs to a heavier screen
I've had 3 shavers in the past 4 years. The resulting shave is about as good as I can get. I've had Norelco, Remington, and Braun before this Wahl. The shortcoming with Wahl is that the screens wear out too quickly. I typically only get about 2 to 3 months of use from a foil screen. They could be slightly thicker, or simply more durable so that they'd last a little longer. I wouldn't mind replacing as frequently as required if they weren't so expensive. Decent close shave
It give a fairly close shave with no bumps. It holds a charge well. So far I have used it for 2 weeks ( 5 minute shaves) on a single charge. I am please with this shaver. Wahl Shaver Shaper 5 stars
My barber uses this shaver when he cuts the top of my head. Of course that is after he uses the larger clippers.. I could heard and feel the power it had and noticed it was cordless. He told me the name and showed me the foil top and that is something to look for when you want a close shave. KI now use this shaver to clean up the top of my head between haircuts. I love these shavers but....
It did not come with a stand and I need that for my station at my shop and to be honest the price was high just after I purchased these I found them for less than $40 so I was upset cause I paid more and didn't get a stand!!
