This plastic repair kit is excellent. it very easy and quick to use. I was able to rebuild a broken plastic switch. The result was as good if not stronger than the original. Q Bond - fixes broken plastic perfectly
What a great product. Appears much stronger than your standard Super Glue. Don't get the glue on your fingers! For less than £10, I saved £150 by not having to replace my motorcycle topbox when one of the hinges sheared. A friend recommended Q Bond, and the product came quickly. The adhesive bonded the plastic hinge back together in less than 20 seconds, and I then used the powder and adhesive to build up a much stronger bond along the whole split. Works a treat. And I still have plenty of the stuff left, for any products that may break in the future. This stuff fixes pretty much anything, but especially plastic, metal and ceramics. strong join on rigid plastics.
Used by garage to fix broken clip inside wing mirror housing, so amazed I bought some. I have always had trouble glueing plastic with any strength required in join. Eg clips as above. Super glue mends well but has no strength. I used it to mend crack in plastic dustbin lid. It was a bit fiddly and you have to work fast but it did the job. Join is more rigid than rest of lid.. So not as pretty as it was... But it's a dustbin, and now it keeps the rain out. It didn't really go into the crack as far as I could see, maybe the glue does or maybe I used too much powder. just the job for my classic car
Used this to repair some 30 year old plastic door card components on a classic car that had become brittle and broken. Did a great repair joining broken pieces that I'd managed to jigsaw back together. Also created a couple of custom moulds using the kids plasticine to recreate some missing pieces layering q-bond glue and power until I had the correct depth. Stanley knife and a quick file finished off a neat job. Very impressed with final strength of everything afterwards. Used this for repairing stripped screw holes in wood to re mount hinges in their all important location, and found it stronger than original, also to try and repair a motorcycle fairing panel which had cracked. A must for minor repairs
This stuff is very useful for fixing minor damage, especially automotive plastic trims. The filler powder allows and lost chips or splits to be filled. Its hardens within seconds so no hold ups doing a job. Powder filling allows weakened areas to be strengthened and filed or sanded smooth if required. Incredibly strong. We tested this stuff by sticking two pieces of metal pipe together and it held the weight of a person with no signs of failure. I wasn’t sure what to expect but if you want a very good strong and fast glue this stuff is amazing. Also initially you may think that the quantity is not much however it really does go along way.
