Bought as a gift for a Yorkshire gardener.I already had a copy which I love as it is so varied in its contents.The writing is contemplative ,observational,descriptive,autobiographical and often humorous ranging from gentle to hilarious. Insightful introductions to the pieces give added pleasure.Alan's comment that these poems are meant to be read aloud resonated when the recipient's wife told me how much he was enjoying the book and that he kept on reading it aloud to her.
