Wind Rose is one of my favorite Metal bands. Hailing from Italy, they style themselves after the Dwarves of Erebor form J.R.R. Tolkien's writings. Their style combines Folk and Power Metal elements in a harmonious blend. I love every song on this album. A few highlights: "Wintersaga" is a hymn of Durin's Day, commemorating the awakening of the great ancestor king of the Dwarves. "Drunken Dwarves" is a drinking song; I love the way the verses count the number of drinks; the changes in tempo and tone really make this one great to jam to. "Diggy Diggy Hole" is a badass cover of the old Minecraft song; it has over 10 million views on Youtube. "King Under the Mountain" and "We Were Warriors" are both great tributes to the greatness of the ancient Dwarves and their prowess in battle. "There and Back Again" is a tribute to Old Bilbo. If you are a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien and/or Power Metal, you should really check these guys out.Read full review
