Worth the price.
After reading the reviews for this locator I wasn't sure if it was worth buying. I spent many hours trying to find the break in my boundary wire (without using this) and couldn't find it. So I sent for it. Once I set it up it took 5 minutes to locate the break, which was a spot that was partially chewed by a mouse or chipmunk. Unlike the unit being discussed in the reviews, this unit uses a beeping tone and a continuous tone, so it is very easy to distinguish between the two tones. Find your wire break in minutes!
This product just plain works! I have an invisible fence with about 1200' of wire. I simply hooked up the wire break detector, drove the ground stakes into the ground, turned on the detector (AM radio), and found my break within minutes. I walked the perimeter of my underground line in both directions and this showed me very quickly that the break was limited to a 10' area. I then used wire and repair splices to fix the fence. Life saver
After waking the boarder of my house looking for the broken wire I was upset I would have to spend lots of money and time fixing it. I found this online for less than half the price and thought I’d give it a try! After getting it set up we found the problem in 10 mins. Our crossed wires coming from the house were not as tight as they needed to be and apparently that affected the loop. Problem fixed and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg.
