fast great meals, wonderful addition to my kitchen
I used the old pressure cookers years ago and they were great for meals for a growing family then as I got older I went back to stove cooking all day for a bowl of beans or soup, This cooker cooks ham hocks and uncooked red beans in under 15 minutes, and roast and stew meats in about 10 minutes.. Good Product
I've only used the product one time, which was on last Saturday. I cooked ham hocks and mustard greens for 30 minutes. It is the first time I've use a pressure cooker, and was really supprised with how the meat just pull off the bones. The greens were good too. A little too mushie, but really good flaver. It is easy to use
So far I have been chopping up veggies, mushrooms and a small piece of meat toss them in with a little meat and add my favorite spices. And in much less than 30 minutes, IT IS READY. Great help in the kitchen.
Pros Great help in the kitchen, you can put almost anything to cook, go to do your things and come back 4 or 5 hours later and food is warm and ready to eat. Cons This is my second Cuisinart CPC-600. Eventually both have shown problems cooking rice. Seems like there is a problem with the temperature sensor located in the center of the heater, which is supposed to control rice cooking. Wow! Compliments to whoever thought of combining a pressure cooker, slow cooker, stewing pot & browning element all in one appliance. It's extremely useful for braises, soups, keeping a dish hot & making a tender pot roast or pulled pork -- just to name a few! It's turning into my go-to appliance right after my non-stick covered Calphalon frying pan. The Cuisinart cooker's really big problem is that it takes up a LOT or counter space and may be too tall to fit under some low kitchen cabinets. Where have you been all my life
I totally love this pressure cooker. I always thought it was for lazy people that don't like to cook but it is a great purchase. Yes it cuts cook time but the food is amazingly delicious.
