Can't beat the value.
I recently had my hearing tested and it measured borderline normal for most frequencies. Well, I'm not spending $1,500 or more for a borderline issue, especially when the professional hearing aid I tested was kind of a pain to operate. So I gambled and shelled out the astounding payment of $24 bucks for this unit.
Of course it's not perfect. It picks up and amplifies most frequencies so you hear a low hiss, along with higher volume than you need on some frequencies. Well, for the price, it has solved my basic needs of hearing the TV at a volume more comfortable for my wife. I don't need it out in public.
AND, it's rechargeable! That makes it a whole lot better than the professional aid I tried. The batteries are about the size of a flat chocolate chip, really tough to handle for people with big mitts like me.
I doubt it would solve everyone's problems, but it works for what I needed.
