Melody Gardo My One and only Thrill
This recording was to me a huge disappointment! Having recently seen her show at the Bristol Jazz and Blues Festival where she put in a great performance....I bought this CD on spec on the back of the show. The recording does not in my opinion live up to what I personally expected. I expected a full band jazz soaked experience. It was more a solo and intimate. Fine if you want / like that kinda thing. She has a great voice and the production is class. But seeing her fine performance with full band backing her and the sound and rhythm and excitement that generated was not born out with this recording. Not sure how her other recordings stack up? I would certainly recommend catching her in concert. Simply brilliant and enthralling.
