From Trois études de concert, #3, "Un Sospiro" has just very recently come to my attention (where have I or it been?) and has very quickly become one of my most favorite pieces out of the classical repertoire. After listening to several other versions of this piece on U tube videos, one of which was my introduction, and Van Cliburn's version, I am very glad I purchased this CD. My enjoyment of and appreciation for Cliburn's subtle nuances grows each time I hear it - this is Not to disparage any of those other versions. I'm starting to hear his style in the other more common selections featured on this CD, Consolation & Liebestraume, which I have enjoyed for years, actually decades. This CD has now sparked my curiosity about some of his other recordings of frequently featured/played pieces, i.e., Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto #1.
