Good quality product but time consuming to fit.

Appears to be a good solid lock which uses a star ⭐️ designed key to operate the bolt. I have fitted a couple of these to metal garage doors. Takes approx 1.5 - 2 hours per lock to fit but most of this is time spent measuring and ensure that the lock is fitted in the correct location and that the bolt locates in the best position. I’ve tried mounting sideways into door frame and also vertically down into the concrete floor - I found the later best suited my garage door, due to its internal design. Once fitted all you see on the outside of the door is the silver round disc covering the key hole and two small round silver domes of the bolt heads, so no ugly external bolts or padlocks.

    Door locks

On my second set, 1st one's wouldn't open ( not same type) these seem to be a better quality item but time will tell . Product update less than four months fitted and worse than the last ones total rubbish.

  • Sturdy well constructed product that is easy to install.

The Enfield Garage Bolt is well constructed. It looks sturdy and has a long bolt throw to ensure security. The lock mechanism feels robust and smooth to turn. Securing bolts are tough, hence they are difficult to cut / shorten. Easy to install. Having three identical, but unique, set of keys is just what is wanted.

  • A good quality product but time consuming to fit properly

Appears to be a good solid lock which uses a star ⭐️ designed key to operate the bolt. I have fitted a couple of these to metal garage doors. Takes approx 1.5 - 2 hours per lock to fit but most of this is time spent measuring and remeasuring to ensure that the lock is fitted in the correct location and that the sliding bolt locates in the best position. I’ve tried mounting sideways into door frame and also vertically down into the concrete floor - I found the later best suited my garage door, due to its internal design. Fitment will vary slightly depending on the internal design of your door - mine was a ribbed design so it would have been easier if it was flat!! Once fitted all you see on the outside of the door is the silver round disc covering the key hole and two small round silver domes of the bolt heads, so no ugly external bolts or padlocks.

  • Not as easy to fit as made out

The locks are great but fitting depends on your door and door frame. Mine wasn't an easy due to how the frame on my door fits with the door shape. I had to make spacers to allow the bolt to line with the frame. The locks feel sturdy and work well. Definitely make the door feel more secure. I didn't bother with the hole from the outside to be able to unlock the bolts. I opted to have it so I need to unlock the garage from the inside. Worth the money.

  • An excellent security product for garage doors.

There are plenty of rack bolts and locks on the market, but this keyed rack bolt set is very good. There are Youtube clips to give hints on fitting - just needing a couple of drill bits and a spanner. It was easy to fit to my up-and-over garage door without any modifications. It's easy to use and inconspicuous and feels very secure.

  • Easy to fix, but minor snag

I am well pleased with these Enfield bolts, and would buy again if needed in the future. However there is one tiny snag that adds time to the fixing process. The fitting instructions recommend using an 8mm drill bit for the fixing bolt holes. Whilst the threaded section of the fixing bolts fit nicely, the lock fixing bolts provided have square shank shoulder under the truss head of the bolts. That square section is 10mm diameter and therefore needs the 8mm holes drilled through the metal garage door face to each have four small incisions filed to allow the bolt head to fit tight against the garage door surface. I followed the instructions provided and used an 8mm drill bit, then filed four small nicks in each hole so as to allow the bolts to seat tight against the metal door. I am not recommending using a 10mm drill bit, but it would speed up the fixing process.

  • Garage door locks.

I bought these locks for a neighbour who wanted better security for his garage door. I already have a pair fitted to my garage door, I fitted them a few years ago and have found them to be sturdy, easy to operate and very secure. It took about an hour to fit each lock, there are a few holes to be drilled in both the metal garage door and the wooden frame. You will need a large drill bit to drill the hole in the door frame. And do take your time to line everything up. Once fitted the locks are well counsealed and secure. It would take a lot of effort, time, noise and power tools to get past these locks. I highly recommend these locks.

  • Tough product; tough to fit

Its a very good product but there are tricks to learn when you fit them: Use their instructions as a guide - you actually need to keep taking the body of the item off many times. Measure the hole spacings on the body of the item and make up a template or mark very carefully. It's a shame they don't provide a template. Drill small pilot holes for accuracy and then drill the correct size. When drilling the hole for the bolt to go through the side of the door, put a blob of paint on the end of the bolt so it marks where to drill. Don't bother cutting the mounting bolts (which they tell you to do) unless you have an angle grinder - they are very hard and will ruin hacksaw blades. You'll need a range of sharp drill bits:- 3.5mm, 8mm, 11mm 13mm and a 17mm wood bit and a pop rivet tool. It is however a good strong product, with dust/water covers for the escutcheons
